IZ*ONE's Agency Shares Update On Legal Action Against Malicious Commenters
IZ*ONE’s agency has shared an update regarding the legal action they announced to take against malicious commenters.
On June 11, the agency released the following statement:
Hello.
This is Off The Record and Swing Entertainment, in charge of joint management for IZ*ONE.
First of all, we express gratitude to the fans who love and support IZ*ONE.
On May 25, we announced through our official channel that we will file a second round of additional legal complaints against malicious commenters for malicious slander, personal attacks, and the spreading of false information.
With law firm Jipyong, we reviewed the content that we monitored ourselves along with screenshots sent by IZ*ONE’s fan union for violation of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc. (defamation) and the crime of insult, and on June 8, we filed additional complaints.
The malicious commenters who were subject to the complaints continued to make insults and sexual harassment remarks as well as spread false information that seriously undermines their reputation on various social networking sites and online communities.
We will not show any leniency to the accused as the members of IZ*ONE as well as their family members have suffered serious mental distress due to the various malicious posts being produced online repeatedly.
We will continue to do our best to protect our artists through continuous monitoring, and we will also continue to file additional complaints if the same cases continue occurring. We sincerely ask you to refrain from hurting others by using anonymity.
We thank everyone who loves IZ*ONE, and we will continue to do our best in protecting our artists. We ask for continuous encouragement and support towards the members.
Thank you.
