Jung Hyung Don And Jang Sung Kyu Confirmed As MCs For New Idol Quiz Show
Jung Hyung Don and Jang Sung Kyu will be teaming up for a new idol quiz show!
On June 12, it was announced that KBS 2TV would be launching a new variety show called “Idols Above Quizzes” (literal title). They stated, “Jung Hyung Don and Jang Sung Kyu have been confirmed to be the MCs of the show. It will be a fun and boisterous quiz that can be enjoyed by viewers of all ages, so please anticipate it.”
“Idols Above Quizzes” will invite K-pop idols from different nationalities to take part in a unique quiz. Jung Hyung Don is a veteran of idol variety shows, having been the MC of JTBC’s “Idol Room” and MBC every1’s “Weekly Idol,” and Jang Sung Kyu has been rising in recent years, known for his honesty and variety chops. The two are close in real life, with Jung Hyung Don even giving Jang Sung Kyu his “Line-crossing Jang Sung Kyu” nickname, so anticipation is rising for their chemistry on the show.
Jang Sung Kyu shared his excitement on his personal Instagram account as he wrote, “Never once have I forgotten you [Jung Hyung Don] since ‘My Little Television.’ You’re the one who created my nickname. I’m so happy to be reuniting with you,” and “Our idols, let’s have fun. I won’t cross the line too much.”
“Idols Above Quizzes” is set to premiere on July 13 at 8:30 p.m. KST.
