The 2020 Soribada Best K-Music Awards has issued an apology after EXO was omitted from its nominee list for a Bonsang (main prize) this year.
On June 12, the following statement was shared:
Hello. This is the Soribada Awards organizing committee.
We are writing regarding the issue about the Bonsang nominees that were announced on the Soribada website on June 9.
We have confirmed that there were serious professional errors made, such as information not delivered, during the process of communication between the staff and agency running the awards as well during the conducting of business. We sincerely bow our heads in apology to the fans that were caused concern due to our inadequate handling as a result of this. We plan to include the group EXO and its members as normal on the list of nominees for the Bonsang.
We have also confirmed that another artist was omitted from the Bonsang nominees list, and all of our staff are reviewing this. We will make an announcement next week on June 16 regarding adding artists to the Bonsang nominees list.
We once again sincerely apologize for causing fans confusion in relation to the awards.
All of the staff running the awards will do everything possible so that further issues do not occur.
Thank you.
