Drama Based On BTS Universe Begins Production + Reportedly Casting Rookie Actors For The 7 Leads
The upcoming drama based on BTS Universe titled “Blue Sky” (literal title) has begun its production process!
Previously, Big Hit Entertainment announced the production of a drama that will tell the story of seven boys who meet for the first time in the BTS Universe. The drama will include fictional aspects and star actors rather than the BTS members themselves. The characters will also have different names from the BTS members.
On June 17, Ilgan Sports reported that Chorokbaem Media began to take their first steps in producing the drama by holding auditions for the leading and supporting actors and by having meetings with the director. Hankook Ilbo also reported that the drama will be casting rookie actors for all seven leads.
Furthermore, the drama will be helmed by producing director (PD) Kim Jae Hong, who previously worked on “Cruel Palace – War of Flowers,” “Your Neighbor’s Wife,” “Yoo Na’s Secret,” and “My Love Eun Dong,” and the drama will be written by scriptwriter Kim Soo Jin, who worked on “Radiant,” “Old Miss Diary,” “I Live in Cheongdamdong” and “Awl.”
According to the reports, the drama has been carried out in top secrecy with only a portion of the script being revealed to the actors at the audition. The filming is reportedly scheduled to begin in September, and they are discussing plans for broadcast next year through over-the-top (OTT) streaming services.
Following reports, a source from Chorokbaem Media stated, “It is true we’re in the process of conducting auditions for leading and supporting actors and carrying out director meetings. However, plans for the next steps have not been decided yet.”
Chorokbaem Media previously worked on the hit dramas “Memories of the Alhambra,” “Familiar Wife,” and “My Ahjussi.”
