Ji Chang Wook And Kim Yoo Jung's New Drama "Backstreet Rookie" Premieres To Modest Ratings
SBS’s latest drama “Backstreet Rookie” is off to a solid start!
Based on a popular webtoon, “Backstreet Rookie” is a new romantic comedy about the unpredictable love story between a bumbling convenience store owner (played by Ji Chang Wook) and a fiery part-time employee (played by Kim Yoo Jung).
On June 19, “Backstreet Rookie” aired its first episode, taking over the time slot previously occupied by “The King: Eternal Monarch.” According to Nielsen Korea, the new drama’s premiere scored average nationwide ratings of 4.8 percent and 6.3 percent for its two parts, marking a slight decrease in viewership from its predecessor’s finale (“The King: Eternal Monarch” scored average ratings of 5.8 percent and 8.1 percent for its final episode).
The second episode of “Backstreet Rookie” will air on June 20 at 10 p.m. KST.
