Kim Ha Neul, Yoon Sang Hyun, And Lee Do Hyun's New Drama Holds Script Reading
JTBC’s new Monday-Tuesday drama “18 Again” has shared photos from its first script reading!
“18 Again” is about a husband on the verge of divorce who suddenly finds himself back in the prime of his life, which was 18 years ago. It is based on the American film “17 Again.”
The drama is directed by Ha Byung Hoon (“Go Back Couple”) and stars Kim Ha Neul (Jung Da Jung), Yoon Sang Hyun (Hong Dae Young), Lee Do Hyun (Go Woo Young), Kim Yoo Ri (Ok Hye In), and Wi Ha Joon (Ye Ji Hoon). Other cast members include Lee Ki Woo (Choi Il Kwon), Kim Kang Hyun (Go Deok Jin), Lee Mi Do (Choo Ae Rin), Noh Jung Ui (Hong Shi Ah), Ryeoun (Hong Shi Woo), Golden Child’s Bomin (Seo Ji Ho), and Hwang In Yeop (Goo Ja Sung).
Kim Ha Neul plays Jung Da Jung, a working mom who joins the workforce later in life after her children have grown up. Yoon Sang Hyun plays her husband, the 37-year-old Hong Dae Young, while Lee Do Hyun plays the same character after he mysteriously transforms back to his 18-year-old body. In order to hide his true identity, he goes by the name Go Woo Young instead.
Kim Yoo Ri and Lee Ki Woo play Ok Hye In and Choi Il Kwon, teachers at Serim High School. Wi Ha Joon plays Ye Ji Hoon, a professional baseball pitcher. Kim Kang Hyun and Lee Mi Do have comedic but key roles in the drama, while Noh Jung Ui, Ryeoun, Golden Child’s Bomin, and Hwang In Yeop round out the cast as Serim High School students.
At the script reading, the cast showed great chemistry despite being the first time they had gathered in the same room. Director Ha Byung Hoon said, “The message that I want to convey through this drama is, ‘one’s first intention.’ I want to work on this project as if it’s my first project again.”
The production staff issued a statement that said, “Kim Ha Neul, Yoon Sang Hyun, Lee Do Hyun, and the other actors forged great chemistry with their realistic and relatable acting. We are working hard to make a drama in which viewers can become immersed, laugh, get excited, and relate to the stories. Please look forward to ’18 Again.'”
“18 Again” will premiere sometime in September.
