Lee Ga Eun Shares Excitement For Her Acting Debut, Upcoming Plans, And More
To celebrate the release of her new song for “PROJECT 10,” Lee Ga Eun recently sat down for an interview with Korean news outlet OSEN.
Lee Ga Eun first made her debut in 2012, when she joined After School as a new member, and she reentered the spotlight with her appearance on Mnet’s “Produce 48” in 2018. Last year, she parted ways with Pledis Entertainment, and she most recently dropped a new song for the project album “PROJECT 10” on June 26.
In addition to being a well-rounded singer, Lee Ga Eun recently stepped into the acting industry and is set to appear in the upcoming web drama “Another Peaceful Day of Second-Hand Items” (literal translation) sometime this year.
She spoke about how acting was a dream come true for her, saying, “Ever since I was little, I grew up watching many dramas and movies, and I received a lot of comfort from them. Inspired by that, I’ve always thought, ‘I want to become an actor like that, who can comfort the hearts of others.’ I didn’t know that I would end up debuting in the entertainment industry at such a young age, but regarding acting, I’ve always thought, ‘One day.'”
After finishing filming for her web drama, Lee Ga Eun confirmed that she was currently looking into her next project.
When asked what her biggest strength was an actress, Lee Ga Eun surprisingly answered, “I’m a scaredy cat.” She explained, “I used to think of it as a weakness, but because of [that personality trait], I’m very careful. I’m always cautious, and I work hard to avoid negative results. Since I’m such a scaredy cat, I also can’t quit. I get scared that if I quit, I’ll regret it. The way I have to finish everything I start becomes one of my strengths.”
Speaking about her upcoming promotions, Lee Ga Eun shared, “I hope everyone gives lots of love to my cover of Girls’ Generation‘s Taeyeon‘s ‘Can You Hear Me.’ Also, starting last year, I’ve been looking into ways to showcase a variety of content through my YouTube channel. In the future, I hope to continue studying so I can meet you all through a variety of projects.”
She continued, “I originally had a fan meeting planned for earlier this year, but it was postponed. I wanted to showcase different performances for my fans, so I hope we can meet soon. Also, at a slow pace, I’ve been writing songs and composing. There’s no way to know when I’ll be able to actually complete a song I like, but I’ll work hard so that I can share a song I’ve written [in the future].”
The singer concluded by expressing love for her fans, remarking, “Thank you to my fans who have supported me for a long time and waited for my music. Through ‘PROJECT 10,’ I hope that my fans who wanted to see me sing are satisfied.”
She added, “I’m glad that I was able to share my upcoming plans with my fans through this interview. I’ll work hard, so please continue to stay with me. I hope that everyone will be able to gain strength by watching me try out and accomplish new things. I’m always grateful, and I love you.”
