Watch: TXT Tells An Intense, Cinematic Story In 19-Minute MV For "Eternally"
TXT has just dropped an epic new music video for “Eternally”!
On June 29 at midnight KST, TXT released what can only be described as a short film for “Eternally,” one of the B-sides from their latest mini album “The Dream Chapter: ETERNITY.” Clocking in at over 19 minutes and 30 seconds long, the music video tells an intriguing story in which each of the five members embarks on his own supernatural journey—then returns to their practice room, wondering if it was really all just a dream.
The new video, which harks back to past TXT music videos and other elements from the “TXT universe,” begins with “Section 1: The night of the last day.” The captions introduce viewers to the story by revealing, “The night of the last day, the world has been shattered into pieces and is in ruins. The boys’ night has also been stained with darkness. The boys’ memories of their predetermined future gradually ate away at them, and as they became lost in the maze of a nightmare, the boys asked, ‘Isn’t there another choice we can make?’ The boys were confused and didn’t know what to do.”
The music video then gives each TXT member his own section of the story, each of which ends with a caption. Soobin’s, “Section 2: The song of the star,” ends with “Whenever I wake up from a familiar dream, I always cry.” Yeonjun’s, “Section 3: Promise,” ends with “Back then, I thought it was lending a helping hand.” Beomgyu’s, “Section 4: No. 17,” ends with “Which side should I believe?” Taehyun’s, “Section 5: Moratorium of rest,” ends with “We’ll be able to find a way.” Huening Kai’s, “Section 6: The girl of eternity,” ends with “No matter how desperately I stretch out my hand, I can’t reach it.”
In the final section of the video, entitled “Section 7: The beginning of the end,” the TXT members return to the practice room. The captions narrate, “In the blink of an eye, the boys felt as though they had traveled all the way to a very distant place and returned. With fear in their hearts, the boys thought, ‘Was all of this really just a dream?'”
After cutting to an eerie shot of the words “Remember my name” written in condensation on the practice room mirror, the video ends by ominously revealing, “The boys did not know that this was merely the start of the chaos and confusion.”
