"Love Playlist" Responds To Reports Of A New Season With Returning Cast Members
On June 29, JoyNews24 reported that “Love Playlist” was being rebooted with returning cast members.
According to the report, the reboot is being called “Dear M: Love Playlist 2021” (working title). “Love Playlist” is a popular web drama series about university students and campus life. The first season came out in 2017 and the show has aired a total of four seasons since.
JoyNews24’s sources stated, “‘Dear M: Love Playlist 2021’ is being co-produced by Monster Union and Playlist. It will be released on Naver and it is in discussions to be broadcast on KBS in the first half of 2021.”
The sources also added that Bae Hyun Sung and Kim Sae Ron would be returning for this new reboot. Bae Hyun Sung appeared in the third and fourth seasons of “Love Playlist,” while Kim Sae Ron appeared in the fourth season.
In response to this report, the video content company Playlist stated, “We are not preparing a fifth season of ‘Love Playlist,’ but instead a new drama that expands the worldview of ‘Love Playlist.’ Nothing has been confirmed with regards to the KBS broadcast.”
The company also added, “Nothing has been confirmed with regards to casting either. The drama is still in the planning process.”
