Kim Min Suk To Be Discharged From Military Service Early Due To COVID-19 Precautions
Actor Kim Min Suk has received an early discharge from military service due to COVID-19 precautions.
On July 4, reports circulated that Kim Min Suk, who was scheduled to be discharged on July 20, would not be returning to his base after his final leave.
As a response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Military Manpower Administration has been discharging soldiers during their final leave so that they do not return to the base and increase the risk of spreading coronavirus.
Kim Min Suk’s agency, Respect Entertainment, confirmed to NewsEn, “Kim Min Suk is set to be discharged as an army sergeant on July 20. His final leave will begin on July 5. According to the COVID-19 precautions, soldiers will not be returning to their base after their final leave, so he will be discharged without his return. Due to the spread of COVID-19, he will be discharged quietly without any special events.”
Kim Min Suk enlisted on December 10, 2018 as an active-duty soldier. During his service, he was cast in the military musical “Return: The Promise of the Day,” but the musical was canceled due to COVID-19 precautions.
