SHINee's Onew To Be Discharged Straight From Final Leave Due To Military's COVID-19 Protocol

Onew is being discharged from the military according to COVID-19 protocol.

On July 8, SHINee’s agency SM Entertainment confirmed, “Onew went on his final leave today, and he will be discharged without returning to the military base.”

This is according to current military protocol that has soldiers not return to their base and be discharged right away after their final vacation due to COVID-19 precautions.

SM Entertainment explained, “He will be discharged on [July] 20 without returning to the base, and there will be no separate discharge event.”

Onew enlisted in the military as an active duty soldier on December 10, 2018. He is the first SHINee member to be discharged with Minho and Key also currently serving in the military.
