Shin Hyun Joon's Family To Halt Appearance On "The Return Of Superman" Following Recent Allegations
Shin Hyun Joon, who is currently in conflict with his former manager, will halt filming for KBS 2TV’s “Return of Superman.”
On July 15, his agency HJ Film released an official statement as follows:
This is HJ Film.
Actor Shin Hyun Joon’s family is currently under a lot of stress.
To prevent secondary damage to them, we asked the production team of “The Return of Superman” for a temporary suspension of their appearance on the show.
We will do our best to resolve the issues that are going on. Thank you.
On July 9, Kim Gwang Seob, former manager of Shin Hyun Joon and former director of his current agency, HJ Film, gave an interview in which he alleged that he had been mistreated by the actor for 13 years. He claimed that during this time he had been underpaid, rudely spoken to, forced to take care of Shin Hyun Joon’s mother, and refused a formal contract. Shin Hyun Joon and HJ Film released a statement denying these claims.
On July 13, Kim Gwang Seob released a series of text messages sent between him and Shin Hyun Joon. In response, Shin Hyun Joon and HJ Film stated that these messages had been maliciously edited and announced that they would be taking legal action.
Also on July 13, Kim Gwang Seob submitted a written accusation to the Seoul Gangnam Police Station asking for a reinvestigation of a claim that Shin Hyun Joon took Propofol illegally in 2010. In response, Shin Hyun Joon explained the hospital that Kim Gwang Seob recommended for him to go to for his bad back came under investigation from the prosecution, so he was only contacted as a patient on their medical record.
