Gong Yoo Confirmed To Make Special Appearance In Netflix Series Led By 'Silenced' Director

Gong Yoo will be making a special appearance in an upcoming Netflix series!

On July 21, a source from his agency Management SOOP confirmed reports that Gong Yoo will be making a special appearance in the Netflix original series “Squid Game” (literal translation). Gong Yoo is said to have agreed to appear in the series as it is being led by director Hwang Dong Hyuk, who also led the 2011 film “Silenced” that the actor starred in.

“Squid Game” will be a Netflix original series that tells the story of a group of people who participate in a mysterious survival game with a 45.6 billion won (approximately $38.1 million) prize on the line. Lee Jung Jae and Park Hae Soo are confirmed to play leading roles.

Gong Yoo appeared in the film “Kim Ji Young, Born 1982” last year and has another film “Seo Bok” (literal title) in the works. He is also in talks to appear in the Netflix original series “The Sea of Silence” alongside Bae DoonaLee Joon, and Lee Joon Hyuk.
