Red Velvet's Irene And Shin Seung Ho's New Coming-Of-Age Film Holds First Script Reading

Red Velvet’s Irene and Shin Seung Ho’s new film “Double Patty” recently shared photos from its first script reading with the cast and crew.

Led by director Baek Seung Hwan and produced under telecommunications company KT, “Double Patty” is described as a coming-of-age movie that follows young people on their journey of growth and development.

This is both Irene’s and Shin Seung Ho’s debuts on the silver screen. Irene will play Lee Hyun Ji, an aspiring anchorwoman, while Shin Seung Ho will play Kang Woo Ram, a high school wrestling player.

In the photos, Irene and Seungho study their scripts with diligence, and they practice their lines in a serious atmosphere.

Utilizing the capabilities of the media platform channels within the group, KT plans to introduce “Double Patty” to domestic and overseas platforms and maximize synergy between KT Group platforms. KT will also continue to produce original content and work to diversify its distribution channels.

Kim Hoon Bae, the executive director of KT’s customer business headquarters, commented, “The original content that KT has consistently produced plays an important role in increasing the number of subscribers and usage of Seezn. Our original content is receiving a lot of attention from overseas and achieving good results in terms of exports. Using the KT Group’s media platform capabilities, we will continue to produce and showcase more diverse original content to enhance the global competitiveness of K-content.”

Starting with “Double Patty,” KT is planning to expand Seezn’s original content, which has mainly focused on short-form web dramas, from online platforms to offline theaters. The film will begin filming in August and premiere in theaters at the end of this year.
