Watch: Red Velvet's Irene And Seulgi Show How To End A Performance + Perform Signature 'Aegyo' Song On 'Weekly Idol'

Red Velvet – Irene & Seulgi recently made an appearance on MBC every1’s “Weekly Idol!”

On the July 22 broadcast, Irene and Seulgi said, “We were worried about coming on the show because we’re the least funny members of Red Velvet.” The MCs, Super Junior’s Eunhyuk and Kwanghee, assured them, ‘You don’t have to try to be funny if you can’t. You can just be here.”

Irene and Seulgi showed the choreography for their new song, “Monster,” and participated in a dance battle with the MCs.

Irene was asked about the difference between Red Velvet’s Irene and Bae Joo Hyun (her real name). She said, “I didn’t know myself, so I asked the staff members. They said Irene is like ‘cheese’ and Bae Joo Hyun is like ‘soybean paste.’ I think they meant that Bae Joo Hyun has a more earthy vibe. I can seem a bit cold at first, but if you get to know me, I’m not like that.”

Seulgi said, “I think that I definitely prepare more when I know I’m going to be on TV than I usually do.”

Irene, who is known as the “ending goddess” for her perfect poses when the camera focuses on her face at the end of a music show performance, said, “You have to know your best angles.”

Irene and Seulgi then performed the “Ottoke Song,” a song known for its aegyo (over-the-top cuteness) that was pioneered by Oh My Girl’s Hyojung. Seulgi said, “I saw the process by which Hyojung made the song. It was so cute when she did it. I asked if she was going to reveal it, and she said she was. I should’ve stopped her. I didn’t know that I would have to do it.” Irene was also nervous about showing her aegyo, but in the end both of them did it for the fans.
