Proceeds From Orchestral Version Of SHINee's Jonghyun's 'End Of A Day' To Go To Shiny Foundation

SM Entertainment has confirmed that all the proceeds from the new orchestral version of SHINee’s Jonghyun’s “End of a Day” will go to the Shiny Foundation.

The orchestral version of “End of a Day” was released on July 24 at 6 p.m. KST. This is part of SM Entertainment’s partnership with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra to record full orchestra versions of popular K-pop songs. The songs are released through SM’s digital music platform, SM Station.

“End of a Day (Orchestra Ver.)” was arranged by Park In Young, an arranger and film music director. The vocal melody was delicately portrayed through the use of wind and string instruments, while the introduction sampled from Claude Debussy’s “Clair de Lune.”

In the music video, the orchestra was conducted by David Yi, associate conductor for the Seoul Philharmonic. The music video also contains short clips and images that testify to the heartfelt message of the original song lyrics.

SM stated, “The proceeds from this orchestra version of ‘End of a Day’ will be donated to the Shiny Foundation, the foundation established by the family of Jonghyun, who was the original writer and producer of the song.”

The Shiny Foundation was established by Jonghyun’s mother with the goal of helping youths and artists with their artistic development and mental health.
