"Music Bank" Issues Apology And Fixes Chart Error + EXO-SC Takes 1st Win For "1 Billion Views"

KBS’s “Music Bank” has issued an apology and correction regarding the rankings of the latest episode that aired on July 24.

On July 28, “Music Bank” released an official statement that reads as follows:

Hello, this is the staff of “Music Bank.”

We wish to notify you that there was an error in the rankings of the weekly chart on July 24 due to a miscalculation. Therefore, we wish to correct the rankings for K-Chart for the fourth week of July, meaning that EXO-SC was in first place and BLACKPINK was in second place.

Music Bank’s K-Chart rankings are calculated based on digital streaming, broadcast appearance, viewer preference, and album sales. The broadcast appearance criteria is calculated based on the number of times a song is played during KBS programs. The error occurred while calculating this criteria, and after looking over the scores once more, we determined that a mistake had been made.

The K-Chart rankings have been updated.

We deeply apologize to viewers who love “Music Bank” and the two artists for causing confusion, and we will do our best to ensure that this does not happen again in the future.

The updated K-Chart rankings reflects the changes, showing EXO-SC taking their first win for “1 Billion Views” with a score of 6,431 points.
