Update: Song Joong Ki, Park Seo Joon, And More Donate To Aid Flood Relief Efforts

More stars have donated to aid those affected by Korea’s ongoing heavy rains and flooding.
YTN reported that Song Joong Ki donated 50 million won (approximately $41,900) to the Korea Disaster Relief Association’s 2020 emergency relief campaign. He reportedly did not inform his agency about his donation and later said through the agency, “It’s a difficult situation for everyone. I hope they can find strength.”
Park Seo Joon has also made a donation. A source from his agency Awesome ENT shared, “It is true that Park Seo Joon has donated 100 million won (approximately $83,800) to the Korea Disaster Relief Association.”
Actress Ki Eun Sae, who saw the damage made by the heavy rains on the news and wanted to help the relief efforts, donated 10 million won (approximately $8,370) to the same 2020 emergency relief campaign. Actress Lee Hye Young also donated 10 million won.

Celebrities are donating to help those affected by Korea’s ongoing heavy rains and flooding.
With Korea’s rainy season beginning in June, torrential rains have been inundating the country in record amounts. These monsoon rains concentrated in Korea’s central and southern regions have flooded residential areas, caused thousands to evacuate, triggered mudslides, and saw at least six deaths with eight gone missing.
According to the Korea Disaster Relief Association, Yoo Jae Suk donated 100 million won (approximately $83,700) to a 2020 emergency relief campaign that helps the victims of flood damage.
The Korea Disaster Relief Association commented, “Whenever there is a new campaign for disaster relief, Yoo Jae Suk has always quietly donated a large sum of money. During a time when several regions of this country are suffering due to these unexpected downpours, we look forward to how Yoo Jae Suk’s donation will have a positive influence.”
Yoo In Na also pitched in to assist in water damage restoration. It was reported on August 3 that the actress donated 50 million won (approximately $41,850) to the Korea Disaster Relief Association.
Comedian Yoo Byung Jae also made a donation of 10 million won (approximately $8,370) to help out the victims of the flooding.
Married couple Hong Hyun Hee and Jason donated as well. On August 3, Hong Hyun Hee wrote on Instagram, “I hope this can become a small source of strength to the flood victims across the country affected by the unexpected torrential rains,” and she revealed that the couple donated 20 million won (approximately $16,740).
The donations will be used to support flood victims and to restore damaged facilities.
