J-Hope is a member of ChildFund Korea’s Green Noble Club, which is comprised of individuals who have donated large sums of money. He shared, “I hope the donation is delivered well to vulnerable children who have been harmed by various social issues, especially the children who are experiencing financial difficulties due to COVID-19.”
In 2018, J-Hope became the 146th member of the Green Noble Club and donated 150 million won (approximately $129,580) to support children in need and help promising students to pursue their dreams. In February 2019, the singer donated 100 million won to support low-income students attending his alma mater and donated another 100 million won to support children later that year in December.
This year, J-Hope’s donation will be delivered to the emergency living support fund to help vulnerable children who are suffering from financial difficulties following COVID-19. With the additional issues caused by Korea’s heavy rains and flooding, the donation will provide great support to children in various difficult living situations.
Furthermore, SBS funE reported that J-Hope carried out this generous action without informing anyone else. Recently, BTS and Big Hit Entertainment donated $1 million to Crew Nation, helping concert crew members who have been financially impacted due to the postponement of concerts during the COVID-19 pandemic. BTS’s fans ARMY have also contributed many meaningful donations to help out with various causes.
ChildFund Korea’s chairman Lee Je Hoon shared, “We express our deep gratitude to J-Hope of the world-famous group BTS for remembering children in difficult financial situations and making continuous donations. ChildFund will follow his precious intentions and do our best to support children who need help.”
