BTS Overtakes Taylor Swift For Biggest Spotify Debut Of 2020 As "Dynamite" Debuts At No. 1 On Global Top 50
BTS has just made Spotify history with their latest single!
On August 21, BTS made their highly-anticipated return with their new single “Dynamite,” which immediately soared to the top of iTunes charts all over the world—and began smashing record after record on YouTube with its music video.
The song has now set a new record on Spotify as well: “Dynamite” debuted at No. 1 on Spotify’s daily Global Top 50 chart for August 21 after racking up an impressive 7,778,950 streams on its first day—breaking the previous record set by Taylor’s Swift’s “Cardigan” (7.742 million streams) to become the biggest Spotify debut of 2020.
Additionally, not only does this latest achievement mark BTS’s first No. 1 on Spotify’s Global Top 50, but it also makes “Dynamite” the first song by any Korean artist ever to top the chart.
