Lee Seung Gi's Agency Updates On Legal Action And Confirms Malicious Commenter Was Recently Fined
Lee Seung Gi’s agency Hook Entertainment has shared an update to their ongoing legal battle against malicious commenters.
On August 28, the agency took to their official website to share the update through an announcement that reads as follows:
Hello, this is Hook Entertainment.
This is a notice regarding our ongoing legal action against malicious commenters.
Of the suits we have filed so far, one malicious commenter was sentenced to pay a heavy fine of five million won (approximately $4,220) by the Daegu District Courts on August 19, 2020.
On top of the fine, we are also looking into pursuing a civil suit for compensation for damages, and we will continue to carry out our policy to pursue all criminal and civil action against malicious commenters.
For all other cases where the individuals have been identified, the prosecution has placed them on wanted lists as they are currently in hiding. Also, there are some malicious commenters whose families have asked for leaner sentences, but we will not make any settlements and ensure that their cases go through the necessary legal procedures.
We are currently in the process of preparing to file additional suits against malicious commenters based on what fans have sent us, as well as our own monitoring, and we will be filing these suits soon.
Our agency will take all necessary legal action to pursue criminal and civil charges to protect our artist, and we will do our best do take strong legal action with no leniency in order to foster a better internet culture.
Thank you.
