Shin Ye Eun Goes All In For Her Love And Dreams In Upcoming JTBC Drama With Ong Seong Wu

JTBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama “More Than Friends” released new stills of Shin Ye Eun!

“More Than Friends” will tell the story of two close friends who both fall in unrequited love with one another over the course of 10 years. Shin Ye Eun will star as Kyung Woo Yeon, a girl who decides to give up on her one-sided love for her guy friend after a decade of pining. Meanwhile, Ong Seong Wu will play Lee Soo, the longtime object of Kyung Woo Yeon’s affection, who suddenly starts seeing her in a different light after years of friendship.

Kyung Woo Yeon is a calligraphist who sees things through to the end when she sets her mind on something. Trapped in a cursed one-sided love, she’s clueless when it comes to relationships. Kyung Woo Yeon is also an ambitious figure who quits her job to chase her dream of becoming a calligraphist.

Although it’s difficult to make a living while doing only the things she likes, Kyung Woo Yeon only feels satisfied if she lives the life she wants. That may be why she’s been in love with her first love Lee Soo for the past 10 years. Although she has given up on relationships, Lee Soo suddenly comes back into the picture along with On Jun Su (Kim Dong Jun), making her heart waver once more.

The newly released stills capture the lovely and innocent smile on Kyung Woo Yeon, who designs calligraphy using her own phrases, as she immerses herself into the book she’s reading and examines her surroundings with attention to detail.

Another still shows Kyung Woo Yeon absorbed in her calligraphy work. Since Kyung Woo Yeon is someone who goes all in for something she likes, viewers are curious to see what she’ll be like in the face of love.

Shin Ye Eun shared, “‘More Than Friends’ is a story about something everyone has come across once in their life, and it provides a sense of familiarity. However, it’s not an ordinary story.” She added, “When I follow the character Kyung Woo Yeon, she makes me think, ‘How have I, Shin Ye Eun, been living?'” She explained that the project is a relatable and comforting story of youth.

The actress also shared, “Kyung Woo Yeon’s biggest charm is her patience. I found it very appealing that she stayed devoted for 10 years, which isn’t a short period of time, to both her dreams and love without giving up. I was curious about how precious of a figure Lee Soo was to Kyung Woo Yeon and how great of a meaning calligraphy had for her. While playing the character of Kyung Woo Yeon, I wanted to find those answers.”

“More Than Friends” premieres on September 18 and will be available on Viki.
