Watch: KCON:TACT 2020 Fall To Be Held Next Month As 10-Day Virtual Convention
CJ ENM and Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) have announced KCON:TACT 2020 Fall, which will be held from October 16 to 25.
The online K-pop convention will be four days longer than KCON:TACT 2020 SUMMER, which was held in June this year, gathering an online audience of 4.05 million.
The convention will be held via the Mnet K-POP channel on YouTube, and CJ ENM will be putting its cutting-edge digital technology to use for the event, including upgraded AR technology, performances using holograms, new acoustics, and more. Previously, CJ ENM used MR (mixed reality) and XR (expanded reality) for enhanced online experiences during KCON:TACT 2020 SUMMER.
A source from CJ ENM said, “KCON has thus far spearheaded efforts in making K-pop known worldwide, and following, even in this era of ‘untact’ (meaning ‘no contact’), we will be bringing new experiences of Korean culture and content to Hallyu fans around the world. As international performances are difficult at this time, we hope KCON:TACT 2020 FALL will be an opportunity for fans and artists to become closer.”
KCON:TACT 2020 Fall will serve in lieu of KCON’s offline conventions, including KCON LA, which Forbe reports has been canceled following its initial postponement.
