Yoo In Na Continues To Donate To Help Children Receive Surgery For Hearing Loss
Yoo In Na has made another thoughtful donation to help children with hearing loss.
On September 3, community welfare organization Cochlea of Love released a statement sharing, “On August 27, actress Yoo In Na donated the fees to cover cochlear implant surgery and speech rehabilitation treatment for a 2-year-old child admitted to the Seoul National University Bundang Hospital.”
Cochlea of Love provides cochlear implant surgery and hearing aids to children with hearing loss and supports them as they adjust to society. The organization also carries out programs to educate the public.
The child had originally been diagnosed with hearing impairment after his newborn hearing test and had been utilizing a hearing aid. However, due to sudden sensorineural hearing loss, the child had to undergo cochlear implant surgery.
The child’s mother shared, “I felt a lot of pressure with regards to this surgery due to our financial difficulties overlapping with COVID-19, but I am so happy to have received this surgery thanks to Yoo In Na’s donation. We will continue to diligently receive speech rehabilitation therapy so that my child can hear the beautiful sounds of our world, like Yoo In Na’s voice, to his heart’s content.”
This donation marks the fifth time Yoo In Na has helped a child receive cochlear implant surgery. The four previous children are currently in speech rehabilitation therapy and Yoo In Na plans to aid eight more children in the same circumstances.
Last year, Yoo In Na made her first donation of 30 million won (approximately $25,200) to Cochlea of Love and has since donated more than 130 million won (approximately $109,100) in total.
