Watch: SuperM Performs "Tiger Inside," "Dangerous Woman," And More On "Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook"
SuperM appeared as guest performers on the September 11 episode of KBS’s “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook.”
As the leader, Baekhyun introduced the group by saying, “We’re seven members from SHINee, EXO, and NCT that first debuted overseas. We released a new song and came to perform for our Korean fans.” In response to a question about the leader, Baekhyun said, “I was chosen on the spot. I think it’s because I’m the oldest.”
Baekhyun chose “understanding,” “respect,” and “tenacity” as the three key traits of being a leader. He said, “There are a lot of people in high positions at [SM Entertainment]. As the leader, you have to express the group’s opinions to the agency. It’s important to speak clearly without being embarrassed or awkward, so you have to have tenacity.”
Taemin added, “I feel bad for him. If he speaks on our behalf, he ends up getting scolded. But he’s a good leader.”
Yoo Hee Yeol also asked Baekhyun about becoming a “million seller” with his solo album earlier this year. Baekhyun responded, “I’m very happy. My parents were so proud that I felt like all the work I’d put in until now was worth it. I am so grateful to the fans and I want to repay them with good music.”
About being on “Sketchbook,” Lucas said, “I’m not familiar with Korean TV programs, but I’ve seen [Yoo Hee Yeol] on TV a lot. I asked the manager and he explained the show to me. It’s an honor to be here.” Yoo Hee Yeol joked, “How does it feel to meet a star?” but Lucas cracked everyone up by commenting, “You’re not that old.” Yoo Hee Yeol asked, “He’s saying I look young, right?” and Baekhyun laughed and added, “This is only possible because it’s Lucas.”
Kai also shared that he is currently recovering from an injury. He said, “I was working on SuperM’s album and my solo album at the same time and was unexpectedly injured a little. It’s not serious and I will recover soon. I feel sorry to the members but I also need to take care of my own TV coverage.” Taemin quipped, “Kai just does whatever he wants to do.” Kai continued, “When I see the members dancing, I really want to dance with them.”
SuperM then performed their new tracks, “100” and “Tiger Inside,” as well as an unreleased track from their concert, “Dangerous Woman.” Ten and Lucas also performed a little of WayV’s “Bad Alive,” Mark showed off a rap he had written himself, and Taemin played piano and sang Golden’s “Hate Everything.”
