SONAMOO's Nahyun And Sumin Win 1st Trial Over Contract Termination, TS Entertainment Appeals Ruling

The court ruled in favor of SONAMOO’s Nahyun and Sumin in their lawsuit against TS Entertainment, and the agency has filed an appeal.

In May of 2019, Nahyun and Sumin sent a certification of contents to TS Entertainment to terminate their contracts. When the agency reportedly refused to carry out the termination, Nahyun and Sumin filed a lawsuit in August to affirm the non-existence of their exclusive contracts. In response, TS Entertainment said it would take legal action against the two members and the group would promote in the future without them. Sumin wrote that the agency had not provided them with their requested settlement data regarding their lack of payment, had talked badly about them to the other SONAMOO members, kicked them out of their dorms, and more.

On September 15, the law firm Yehyun representing Nahyun and Sumin confirmed that the court ruled in favor of Nahyun and Sumin on September 10. According to the ruling, their exclusive contracts with TS Entertainment have been terminated.

TS Entertainment filed a written appeal on September 14, meaning the legal dispute will continue. The date for the appellate trial has not yet been set.
