Watch: Girls' Generation's Seohyun, Go Kyung Pyo, And More Are Masters Of Deceit In New Drama Teaser
JTBC’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama “Private Lives” (literal title) has released a teaser for the first episode!
The upcoming drama takes place during the current age in which people share, steal, and fabricate their private lives. It’s about con artists mobilizing all their techniques to disclose the nation’s major “private life.”
Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun plays Cha Ju Eun, whose “alternative character” or persona is a sheltered only child, but her true self is a con artist since birth. She’s a master of disguise with an elegant aura, and she’s fooled many people.
Go Kyung Pyo plays Lee Jung Hwan, who is simultaneously the team manager of a major company and a mysterious man with an unknown identity. While he looks like a polished business person on the outside, everyone’s curious to find out the truth about the mystery that surrounds him.
Meanwhile, Kim Hyo Jin is Jung Bok Gi, a professional con artist who sits in the top 1 percent among all con artists, and Kim Young Min stars as Kim Jae Wook, a con artist full of ambition who is also Jung Bok Gi’s business partner.
In the teaser, Cha Ju Eun and her assistant Han Son (Tae Won Suk) confirm that they’re ready to resume their “business.” They turn out to be targeting Jung Bok Gi, whose true identity is unknown.
The characters trade suspicious documents and bundles of money, and Cha Ju Eun says, “I’ll end this right away once the money is deposited.” Her plans seemed to have fallen apart, as Cha Ju Eun disguises herself as different people and grows nervous when someone doesn’t pick up her call. Cha Ju Eun’s con artist parents Cha Hyun Tae (Park Sung Geun) and Kim Mi Sook (Song Sun Mi) are in on her plans as well, and the teaser hints at who will win between Cha Ju Eun and Jung Bok Gi.
On the other hand, Lee Jung Hwan receives a large sum of money and appears to make a deal with a mysterious man who says, “He wants to kill them but couldn’t because he didn’t have the money? Let me contact him.”
Lee Jung Hwan then tries to convince Jung Bok Gi, saying, “I’ll make you trust me.” Why Lee Jung Hwan is trying to get her on his side is yet to be revealed.
Additionally, Jung Bok Gi and Kim Jae Wook are planning on disappearing. Jung Bok Gi says on the phone, “This time, I’m not returning.” Later, Kim Jae Wook is seen sitting in an airplane, as if he’s on vacation. The two plan on testing everyone’s sense of trust, making viewers wonder what they have up their sleeves.
