Watch: Lee Dong Wook And Jo Bo Ah Direct Their Own Hilarious Teaser For 'Tale Of The Nine-Tailed'

Lee Dong Wook and Jo Bo Ah filmed their own funny “preview” for the next episode of tvN’s “Tale of the Nine-Tailed”!

The actors currently star alongside Kim Bum in the drama that tells the story of a male gumiho (a mythical nine-tailed fox) named Lee Yeon (Lee Dong Wook) who has settled in the city, and the fearless producing director named Nam Ji Ah (Jo Bo Ah) who is trying to find out the truth behind the disappearance of her parents.

After the first two episodes scored great viewership ratings last week and intrigued viewers with its plot, fans are already looking forward to the next episode coming on Wednesday. Nevertheless, Lee Dong Wook and Jo Bo Ah upped the excitement even more by creating their own hilarious ad for the show.

Spoilers

On October 13, the two stars posted a video to their Instagram accounts with the same caption that reads, “This must be the first time you’ve seen a preview like this! Dong Wook and Bo Ah’s self-produced preview video! This is how hard we’re working, so please tune in to the show live. Please~~.”

In the video, Jo Bo Ah keeps rushing up to Lee Dong Wook while calling out to him and then grabbing him by the throat and pushing him out of frame. This is a play on how episode 2 ended with a surprise when Nam Ji Ah suddenly grabbed Lee Yeon by the throat and told him she is the person he’s been waiting for, adding the chilling line, “Why did you kill me?”

When Jo Bo Ah gets Lee Dong Wook backed up against the door to his dressing room in the video, Lee Dong Wook asks why she’s doing this. She replies, “Aren’t you curious about what happens next? Are you going to watch episode 3 and 4 or not?”

He replies, “I’m going to watch ‘Tale of the Nine-Tailed’ tomorrow at 10:30 p.m. on tvN.” Jo Bo Ah turns to the camera with a big smile and says, “Watch it live!” and Lee Dong Wook nods in agreement.

The caption reminds fans that the next episodes air on Wednesday and Thursday at 10:30 p.m. KST. The hashtags explain that Jo Bo Ah was in charge of planning and production for the preview video and Lee Dong Wook was the director. They got Jo Bo Ah’s manager to film it, while the caption adds, “Cameo: Role of Lee Dong Wook’s manager played by Lee Dong Wook’s manager.” The general director was the show’s director Kang Shin Hyo.

“Tale of the Nine-Tailed” has also shared some preview stills for what’s coming up next. In the last episode, Lee Yeon and Nam Ji Ah went to an island together with two very different goals: Lee Yeon on his quest to find his love Ah Reum whom he’s spent 600 years searching for, and Nam Ji Ah investigating a mysterious incident similar to a dream she had involving her mother throwing a skull. While on the island, they met the spirit of the village’s guardian tree and then the mystery deepened when Nam Ji Ah realized that a cave on the island is the one pictured in an old photo of her missing parents.

In photos from the next episode, Nam Ji Ah and Lee Yeon are sitting on the porch of the home owned by Pyung Hee, the daughter of the fisherman whose death they are investigating. They’re having a meal of instant noodles while surrounded by the home’s stone walls and greenery.

Lee Yeon looks a bit discontent as he slurps his noodles, while on the other hand Nam Ji Ah is calmly listening before giving a smile. Lee Yeon then has a melodramatic look in his eyes as he continues the serious conversation, while Nam Ji Ah looks bemused as she puts down her chopsticks and stares at him. Viewers are curious to find out what Lee Yeon has said that has made Nam Ji Ah so surprised.

The scene was filmed in May, and it’s said that the two stars were excited to be filming on such a beautiful day among the gorgeous scenery. They entered the filming location with bright smiles and the atmosphere on set was great as they shot the scene. Lee Dong Wook even got up close to a boom mic to properly capture Lee Yeon’s slurping noises as he ate the noodles.

The production team said, “Lee Dong Wook and Jo Bo Ah always put a lot of thought into how they can accurately portray the critical element of reality even within the fantasy story.” They added, “Check out the show this week to find out whether Lee Yeon and Nam Ji Ah can find out the truth about the mysterious island and to learn how their relationship will develop.”
