B1A4 Talks About Making 1st Comeback As A Trio, Inspiration Behind "Like A Movie," And More
B1A4 has made their long-awaited comeback!
On October 19, B1A4 released their fourth full-length album “Origine,” marking their first comeback as a trio following Baro and Jinyoung‘s departure from their agency.
The group also held an online media showcase where they performed their latest title track “Like a Movie.” Following the performance, Sandeul said, “I’m more nervous than I thought I’d be. Ever since we were in the waiting room, I thought, ‘Am I nervous?’ I’m relying on my members and I think we’re doing well.”
Gongchan added, “My mind is blank. After I finished my part and turned around, Sandeul and I crossed paths and he held my hand, which gave me strength.”
Regarding the group’s reconstruction as a trio, CNU commented, “It’s true that there’s pressure. To us, we feel that this album is a very big change and a very big challenge. Since we saw it as a new starting point for B1A4 moving forward, we thought over it that much more.”
He continued, “We know how upset our fans are so we worked even harder. Between us members, we talked a lot, sharing our thoughts and opinions. We met up way more often and had a lot of discussions.”
Sandeul elaborated on the group’s love for their fans, called BANAs, sharing, “We made them wait so long and I feel like we hurt them so I feel very apologetic. I want to use this space to thank them for waiting. I think this time will be that much happier because of how long they waited. I want to tell them that in the future, there will only be happy days.”
Their title track “Like a Movie” is composed by CNU and tells the story of feeling like time has stopped and you’ve become the main character of a movie. CNU explained, “Our title song ‘Like a Movie’ is a song I wrote during my military service. I thought that I wanted to quickly share it with our fans. I wrote it thinking about what it would be like to give a song that’s like a gift to our fans who have waited for us. I hope we can create scenes that are like movies together.”
Looking back on the past nine years of B1A4’s career, CNU shared, “I was watching a video of us from our debut on YouTube and Sandeul hasn’t changed at all. Back then, he was still so energetic and I’m proud that he’s maintaining his visuals even now. When I was in the military, I thought, ‘Sandeul is taking care of himself well. He’s doing good.'”
He added, “Through these promotions, I got the thought that B1A4 is like a ceramic pot. There are times where we are on fire, but I also think we are a group that can warmly be remembered for a long time, and that is our wish too. We hope to become a group that warmly lasts in many people’s memories.”
Lastly, CNU commented, “I hope you will look forward to the colors that our three members will showcase. In the future, we plan to promote more actively. We want to promote more as B1A4 and we will also actively promote individually.”
