The drama follows the story of a former track and field athlete named Ki Sun Kyum (played by Im Siwan) who retires after a life-changing event and becomes a sports agent. The actor was deeply immersed in his role from the moment he said his first line, and the kind look in his eyes, his gentle voice, and gentlemanly demeanor conveyed the upright, sincere, and serious character of Ki Sun Kyum.
Shin Se Kyung plays Oh Mi Joo, an adventurous foreign film translator, and she showed off the charm of the character who’s grounded and true to her emotions. It was clear how much she’d practiced from her natural acting and the way she improvised in just the right places whenever it was needed. It’s also described that two leads had great romantic chemistry, living up to the expectations of fans who are already calling them the “Kyum Mi couple.”
Sooyoung also perfectly pulled off the character of sports agency CEO Seo Dan Ah, who was the only child of Seomyung Group but was pushed down the order of successors for being female. Sooyoung showed that she’ll be creating a refreshing character as she plays Seo Dan Ah, who is both easy-going and determined. Meanwhile, Kang Tae Oh completely transformed into the role of Lee Young Hwa, a popular art student who is handsome, kind, and charming. It’s said that the pair is already showing that they’ll thrill viewers with their romance.
The supporting cast showed their acting talents as they got into their roles too, with Park Young Gyu playing Ki Sun Kyum’s father Ki Jung Do and Cha Hwa Yun playing his mother Yook Ji Woo. The role of Oh Mi Joo’s industry senior Baek Mae Yi is played by Lee Bong Ryeon, and she and Shin Se Kyung lit up the room as they performed their characters’ witty banter.
Ryu Abel plays Ki Eun Bi, the warm older sister of Ki Sun Kyum while Seo Eun Kyung and Yun Je Wook play Seo Dan Ah’s colleagues Dong Kyung and Jung Ji Hyun.
Lee Jung Ha takes the role of Ki Sun Kyum’s junior Kim Woo Shik, and Choi Jae Hyun plays the self-centered idol Seo Tae Woong who’s always trying to get the attention of his older sister Seo Dan Ah. Kim Dong Young and Kim Si Eun will play the realistic siblings Go Ye Joon and Go Ye Chan, and they made everyone laugh with their funny performances.
The production team stated, “Thanks to the realistic chemistry formed early on by the actors, they were able to more deeply portray the theme of ‘Run On’ about the process of understanding each other. Please join us in watching this winter to see if these people who form sincere connections despite speaking their own different languages will be able to go as far as finding love.”
“Run On” will premiere in December, following the end of “Private Lives.”
