Mnet's "Kingdom" Reportedly To Begin Filming In January
On October 29, JoyNews24 reported that Mnet was preparing to film and broadcast “Kingdom” early next year.
In 2019, Mnet launched “Queendom,” a competition show in which five girl groups and one female solo artist went head-to-head in performances and on the music charts.
After the success of “Queendom,” Mnet announced that they would be launching a male version of the show. Unlike “Queendom,” this show was divided into two parts: “Road to Kingdom,” which aired from April to June 2020, and “Kingdom.”
According to JoyNews24’s sources, “Kingdom” is set to begin filming in January 2021, with the goal of airing its first episode in February.
A source from Mnet stated, “We are currently casting artists with the goal of airing the first episode in the first half of 2021. The exact details of the filming and broadcast have not been decided.”
Mnet had planned to air “Kingdom” in the second half of 2020, but those plans were derailed by the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic.
As the winners of “Road to Kingdom,” The Boyz will automatically be participating in “Kingdom.”
