Lee Yeon and Nam Ji Ah are continuing to show amazing chemistry, which is making fans feel a wide range of emotions from excitement to shock throughout the drama. Here are four important ways the Yeon-Ji Ah couple’s relationship has developed so far!

“I’ve been waiting for you.”

When Lee Yeon ends up meeting Nam Ji Ah, whose life goal is to find her missing parents, he gets involved in an intense chase. Due to the antics of Lee Rang (played by Kim Bum), Nam Ji Ah spots Lee Yeon again, which raises suspicions for her, and it’s revealed that Lee Yeon had previously saved Nam Ji Ah, who looks the same as his first love, 21 years ago.

Nam Ji Ah suspected that an otherworldly being had rescued her back then and tries to uncover Lee Yeon’s identity. She even throws herself off a building in order to figure out the truth, and once she sees that Lee Yeon is able to save her, Nam Ji Ah feels certain about who he really is. She tells him, “I’ve been waiting for you,” which kicks off their relationship as they begin to search for Nam Ji Ah’s parents together.

“I don’t want to lose you.”

Nam Ji Ah, who dreamed of her parents holding a skull, and Lee Yeon, who’s trying to stop Lee Rang’s plans, head to the island. While there, Nam Ji Ah gets into trouble. In order to save her, Lee Yeon kills the shaman but ends up receiving a punishment. When Nam Ji Ah sees a wounded Lee Yeon rushing to save her, Nam Ji Ah begins to cry. Through her tears, the “fox bead” that was within Nam Ji Ah appears, and it’s revealed that Lee Yeon’s first love Ah Eum had been reborn as Nam Ji Ah.

Lee Yeon wishes that Nam Ji Ah will live on without knowing anything, and Lee Yeon learns from the magistrate (Lee Kyu Hyung), who claims that he knows about the whereabouts of Nam Ji Ah’s parents, that there’s a connection between a man with a marking on his face and the Fox Ridge incident. However, Lee Yeon then disappears due to a deal made between Lee Rang and the fortune teller, and Nam Ji Ah uses her bead in order to save Lee Yeon. In that dangerous moment, she tells him, “I don’t want to lose you.”

“You killed me.”

As Nam Ji Ah’s bead disappears, the imooginside of her comes alive. When Lee Yeon finds out about this, he decides to protect Nam Ji Ah by staying by her side. They start bonding over little things like mint chocolate ice cream and freshly cooked rice, but things start to go awry due to Nam Ji Ah’s “tiger eyebrows” from Lee Rang.

Nam Ji Ah is now able to see Lee Yeon killing Ah Eum in her past life, and she cries, “You killed me.” From there, the two start to grow apart due to the misunderstanding that Lee Yeon killed Ah Eum as a sacrifice for the imoogi.

“What are you most afraid of?”

Despite the misunderstanding, Lee Yeon continues to stay by Nam Ji Ah’s side, and Nam Ji Ah begins to learn more about her past life. After she watches a video of herself from the past, Nam Ji Ah discovers that she has a connection to the imoogi, and she also meets a lady in green (Shim So Young). The lady asks Nam Ji Ah, “What are you most afraid of?” As she’s taken to the place of the incident 21 years ago, Nam Ji Ah grows scared, and when Lee Yeon is faced with the decision to choose between Nam Ji Ah and Lee Rang, he chooses Lee Rang first in an interesting plot twist.

The drama’s production team commented, “Lee Dong Wook and Jo Bo Ah boast perfect acting skills and looks, and they’re doing a great job portraying the Yeon-Ji Ah couple who fall for each other. We’re always thankful for the viewers who show their enthusiastic support for the couple.”
