City Of LA To Name Intersection After SM Entertainment
The city of LA will soon be getting its own “SM Entertainment Square”!
On October 28 local time, the Los Angeles City Council officially decided to name the intersection at Oxford and 6th, where SM Entertainment will soon be opening a new entertainment complex, “SM Entertainment Square.”
LA City Councilman Herb Wesson commented, “We want to express our respect for the innovative contributions that SM Entertainment and executive producer Lee Soo Man have made to the music industry while leading K-pop onto the world stage.”
Park Kyung Jae, the consul general of the Korean Consulate in LA, remarked, “I hope that the newly designated ‘SM Entertainment Square’ will develop into a cultural hub that helps spread K-pop and Korean entertainment in the city of LA, which is known for its historic role in the film and entertainment industries. Just like Times Square in New York, I hope that SM Entertainment Square will become a space where young people from all over the world can gather.”
