Update: 2020 APAN Awards Announces New Dates After Postponement

The 2020 APAN Awards has announced that its ceremonies will now be held on January 23 and 24, after previously postponing the event.

The 2020 APAN Star Awards and 2020 APAN Music Awards will be postponed.
The organizing committee stated, “On November 19, the social distancing level was raised to 1.5 in Seoul and metropolitan areas, and we have decided to postpone the ceremonies to follow the rules.”
Level 1.5 of social distancing prohibits gatherings of more than 100 people at stadiums, concert halls, and all other concerts or events.
Chief executive director Son Sung Min added, “We will keep a close eye on the COVID-19 situation and come up with a way to strictly abide by disease prevention guidelines before deciding on new dates. We will make a full defensive preparation for safety so that the ceremonies can be held successfully.”
The 2020 APAN Music Awards was originally scheduled to take place on November 28 KST and the 2020 APAN Star Awards on November 29.

The 2020 APAN Music Awards has revealed its list of nominees!
On November 6, the organizing committee of the 2020 APAN Music Awards announced the 30 artists who had been nominated for this year’s Top 10. The list was selected through a combination of album sales, digital sales, evaluation by a panel of judges, and fan voting.
A representative of the committee commented, “We are preparing to hold the 2020 APAN Music Awards, which will gather the top K-pop artists who lit up the music industry this year, in a different format from other music awards shows. In addition to showcasing performances by A-list K-pop artists for K-pop fans all over the world, we also plan to make new and daring attempts to stage extravagant and flamboyant performances using special effects such as AR [augmented reality]. We are preparing a ceremony that will convey a message of hope and comfort to the fans all over the world who are going through difficult times because of COVID-19.”
