3 Unsolved Mysteries Intriguing Viewers In "The Penthouse"

SBS’s new Monday-Tuesday drama “The Penthouse” continues to pique viewers’ curiosity!

“The Penthouse” is set in a 100-floor luxury penthouse apartment and centers around three women: the “queen” of the penthouse Shim Soo Ryun (Lee Ji Ah), the “prima donna” Chun Seo Jin (Kim So Yeon) who will stop at nothing to get what she wants, and Oh Yoon Hee (Eugene) who will do anything it takes to get into the world of high society.

Last episode, it was revealed that Joo Dan Tae (Uhm Ki Joon) killed Shim Soo Ryun’s past lover and switched her real daughter Min Seol Ah (Jo Soo Min) with Joo Hae In (Na So Ye), another person’s daughter.

Shim Soo Ryun fell in deep shock when she witnessed Min Seol Ah’s death right after she learned of her true identity. After Shim Soo Ryun realized that the people living in the Hera Palace (the penthouse) concealed evidence regarding Min Seol Ah’s death and that Joo Dan Tae and Chun Seo Jin were having a secret affair, Shim Soo Ryun resolved to get revenge.

Below are three mysteries waiting to be resolved in the upcoming episodes!

Mystery 1: The unidentified blood on Oh Yoon Hee’s hands

In the ending of episode three, Oh Yoon Hee visited the penthouse drunk. The next day, she received a call that her daughter Bae Ro Na (Kim Hyun Soo) had been accepted to Cheonga Arts High School, and she was shocked to discover her hands covered in blood. In order to get her daughter into Cheonga Arts High School, Oh Yoon Hee had kneeled in front of her enemy Chun Seo Jin, and she had even pictured pushing Min Seol Ah down the stairs because she was going to enter the school at the top of her class.

After learning that Bae Ro Na was accepted because one of the accepted students had passed away, Oh Yoon Hee ran to the penthouse and met Chun Seo Jin’s daughter Ha Eun Byul (Choi Ye Bin) and Kang Ma Ri’s (Shin Eun Kyung’s) daughter Yoo Jenny (Jin Ji Hee). Confirming that Min Seol Ah had died, Oh Yoon Hee was once again shocked by her bloodied hands, making viewers wonder whether she could be related to Min Seol Ah’s death.

Mystery 2: The mysterious hand that untied Min Seol Ah

While everyone was enjoying the one year anniversary of the penthouse, a mysterious figure entered the machinery room to untie Min Seol Ah’s feet. Min Seol Ah escaped and began to ran away, but as she was going down the stairs, someone pushed her. When she finally escaped outside, Min Seol Ah ran into someone at the lobby, causing her to panic and eventually be pushed down. Viewers are trying to deduce who could have helped Min Seol Ah and who she could have run into right before she died.

Mystery 3: The suspicious actions of Chun Seo Jin and Ha Eun Byul

Chun Seo Jin visited Min Seol Ah in the machinery room to ask about the whereabouts of the phone containing the video of her affair. Instead of responding, Min Seol Ah brought up her daughter Ha Eun Byul’s corrupt admission into school. When Chun Seo Jin grabbed her by her collar, she bit Chun Seo Jin’s arm and left clear teeth marks on it. With a sharp expression, Chun Seo Jin yelled at Min Seol Ah to die. Furthermore, when Yoo Jenny showed Ha Eun Byul the article regarding Min Seol Ah’s death, she plugged her ears and screamed. Viewers are keeping an eye out for what Chun Seo Jin’s and Ha Eun Byul’s suspicious actions could mean.

The production team commented, “As the mysteries surrounding Min Seol Ah’s death begin to unravel one by one, viewers will be shocked by the twists.”
