“School 2020' To Be Changed To “School 2021” + WEi’s Kim Yo Han Remains Male Lead

WEi’s Kim Yo Han will be starring as the male lead in the new KBS 2TV drama “School 2021”!

On November 9, a source from KBS shared, “Kim Yo Han will be the male protagonist of ‘School 2021.’ It will be filmed for broadcast in the first half of next year.”

Earlier this year, Kim Yo Han was confirmed to be the male lead in “School 2020,” which was slated to air in the second half of 2020. Ahn Seo Hyun was initially in talks for the female lead role, but she was ultimately not cast in the drama due to conflicts between her father and the production company. The female lead role was then offered to Kim Sae Ron, but KBS announced that they would no longer be airing the drama on their channel. Despite no longer having a broadcasting channel to air on, the drama’s production company stated that the drama had not fallen through and would begin production once the casting process was complete.

The source from “School 2021” added, “Unlike ‘School 2020,’ which was going to be based on the novel ‘Oh, My Men!’ (literal title), ‘School 2021’ will be a completely new story of its own. The characters will be different as well.”

For “School 2020,” Kim Yo Han had been cast in the role of Kim Tae Jin, a taekwondo athlete who quits after a severe ankle injury and the failure of his father’s business and transfers to a vocational high school. No information has been shared about Kim Yo Han’s new character in “School 2021.”
