Lee Je Hoon And Shin Hye Sun's New Film "Collectors" Surpasses 1 Million Moviegoers
Lee Je Hoon and Shin Hye Sun’s new movie “Collectors” is off to a strong start at the Korean box office!
On the morning of November 16, the Korean Film Council announced that “Collectors” had officially surpassed 1 million moviegoers. According to the Korean Film Council’s calculations, “Collectors” drew a total of 103,345 moviegoers on the day of November 15 alone, bringing the film to a cumulative total of 1,001,234 moviegoers in the first 12 days of its release.
“Collectors,” which was released on November 4, is a heist film starring Lee Je Hoon as a talented grave robber and Shin Hye Sun as an elite curator in the ancient art world. The movie also stars Im Won Hee as an “expert with a shovel” and Jo Woo Jin as a professor who specializes in excavating murals in ancient tombs.
Although movie theaters have been drawing far smaller crowds since Korea’s reinstatement of stricter social distancing guidelines in August, positive word-of-mouth has helped “Collectors” remain popular at the box office: notably, the film performed particularly well in the second weekend of its release.
Congratulations to the cast and crew of “Collectors”!
