3 Key Points To Anticipate As "Live On" Makes Its Premiere
JTBC’s “Live On” is gearing up for its premiere!
“Live On” is a romance drama set in the broadcasting club of Seo Yeon High School. Jung Da Bin plays Baek Ho Rang, the school celebrity and social media influencer who enters the club for suspicious motives, while NU’EST’s Minhyun plays Go Eun Taek, the head of the club who is strict and a perfectionist.
Before its premiere, “Live On” revealed three exciting points to look out for in the upcoming drama!
Minhyun and Jung Da Bin’s visual chemistry
As Minhyun’s first lead role and Jung Da Bin’s follow-up project after “Extracurricular,” the drama garnered attention from the public even from the casting stages. The two leads are also joined by the talented and energetic rookie actors Noh Jong Hyun, Yang Hye Ji, Yeonwoo, and VICTON’s Byungchan.
Furthermore, viewers are highly anticipating Go Eun Taek and Baek Ho Rang’s romantic chemistry. Director Kim Sang Woo picked Go Eun Taek and Baek Ho Ran’s first meeting and the moments in which their feelings grow stronger for each other as points to look out for in the upcoming drama. Although they start off by being at odds with one another, their relationship will gradually change, eventually making viewers’ hearts flutter.
Realistic teen romance
“Live On” will realistically portray the lives of current students, who are more heavily influenced by modern technology and the world of social media than in the past. On top of all this, the drama will portray the students’ passion towards their dreams, conflicts between friends, innocent excitement, and their awkward expression of emotions, making viewers revisit their past.
The drama will combine the trends of the current generation with the familiar and unchanging elements of one’s school days to make people across all generations relate easily to the story.
Elements of mystery
One day, Baek Ho Rang hears an anonymous story that’s connected to her past trauma through the school’s lunch broadcast. The incident sparks Baek Ho Rang’s struggle to find the anonymous person who submitted the story.
Viewers can enjoy the challenge of discovering Baek Ho Rang’s secret as they collect evidence to deduce who the anonymous person is and what past trauma Baek Ho Rang could have. Scriptwriter Bang Yoo Jung shared, “Discovering the identity of the sniper who shoots at the tiger (referring to Baek Ho Rang) will be an interesting point to watch out for.”
Director Kim Sang Woo commented, “I hope ‘Live On’ becomes a drama that people recall like music or perfume when they reminisce of their teens or this current time.”
“Live On” premieres on November 17 at 9:30 p.m. KST and will be available with English subtitles on Viki!
