BTS Makes History As "Map Of The Soul: 7" Becomes Their 2nd Album To Go Platinum In United States
BTS is now the first Korean artist with two albums that have gone platinum in the United States!
BTS’s fourth full album “Map of the Soul: 7” came out on February 21, 2020 and features the title track “ON.” The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has now certified the album platinum!
Earlier this year, BTS became the first Korean artist to have an album certified platinum in the United States when “Love Yourself: Answer” achieved the feat. Their latest accomplishment extends their record to two albums.
In order to receive an official platinum certification from the RIAA, an album must sell 1 million equivalent album units in the United States.
BTS also holds platinum certifications in the United States for three singles: “IDOL,” “Boy With Luv” (featuring Halsey), and “MIC Drop.” Their album “Map of the Soul: Persona” has gold certification and so do their singles “Fake Love” and “DNA.”
BTS is currently getting ready to make a comeback this week with their album “BE (Deluxe Edition)” coming out on November 20.
Congratulations to BTS!
