Every K-drama fan goes through a moment when watching a really good series. It’s that moment when the main lead drops an oh-so-romantic line that has you completely swooning. Over the very long history of K-dramas, there have been a handful that K-drama fans are still unable to get over. Here are 15 of those epic, heart-stopping lines.
1. “Coffee Prince”
“I like you. I don’t care whether you’re a man or an alien anymore.”
-Choi Han Gyul (Gong Yoo)-
When Go Eun Chan (Yoon Eun Hye) gets a job at a cafe, she meets her stubborn boss, Choi Han Gyul. The two form a strong connection that even leads to some romantic feelings, but Han Gyul is a bit confused about his feelings because he thinks Eun Chan is actually a man. So when Han Gyul decides to finally follow his heart, he puts aside any doubts and hesitancy and declares his love for Eun Chan. It’s a passionate moment filled with so much meaning.

2. “Scarlet Heart: Goryeo”
“If we are not from the same world, I will find you, My Soo.”

Hae Soo (IU) is transported from modern times to the Goryeo era, where she falls in love with a bad boy prince. The love story of Wang So and Hae Soo is so heartbreaking and bittersweet. The two have an undying love for each other that is constantly broken apart by duty and responsibility. When Wang So uttered these words at the end of the series, it literally broke people’s hearts and plenty of people were demanding for a second season. We’re still patiently waiting!
3. “Dr. Romantic”
“Am I not allowed to be crazy about you, sunbae?”
-Kang Dong Joo (Yoo Yeon Seok)-
Yoon Seo Jung (Seo Hyun Jin) and Kang Dong Joo work as doctors alongside a miracle doctor, Dr. Kim (Han Suk Kyu). Dong Joo falls in love at first sight with Seo Jung and it doesn’t take long for him to confess his feelings for her. His upfront and honest confession took viewers by storm at how romantic the whole atmosphere and lines were. And to think, this intensely fiery scene was in the first episode. Talk about a quick-burn love story!

4. “It’s Okay To Not Be Okay”
“I love you so much! I said I love you!”
-Moon Kang Tae (Kim Soo Hyun)-
When a popular children’ book writer, Go Moon Young (Seo Ye Ji), first lays eyes on Moon Kang Tae, she has to have him. Despite Kang Tae’s persistent rejection of Moon Young’s advances, she still pursues him and first declares her love for him by yelling it out loud for everyone to hear as he walks away. So when Kang Tae finally realizes his feelings for her and reciprocates her confession, he does it in Moon Young fashion by yelling it out to her. It’s the perfect display of affection that suits the two lovebirds.
5. “Crash Landing On You”
“I have no regrets. You came into my life like a gift. I’m just grateful for that.”
-Ri Jeong Hyuk (Hyun Bin)-
This line is said in the midst of a very emotional scene with Ri Jung Hyuk being forced to go back to North Korea. The two star-crossed lovers believe this to be the last time they will ever see each other again, which makes it so heartbreaking. On top of the fact that they are forced to separate, Yoon Se Ri (Son Ye Jin) is worried that Jung Hyuk will be killed or hurt as a result of his escaping to South Korea. It’s an emotionally heavy scene that viewers will never forget.
6. “Strong Woman Do Bong Soon”
“Please like me.”
-Ahn Min Hyuk (Park Hyung Sik)-
Ahn Min Hyuk meets Do Bong Soon (Park Bo Young) by chance and discovers that she’s got crazy superhuman strength. He hires her as his bodyguard and ends up falling head over heels in love with her. There are more than a few times where Min Hyuk says a heart-stopping line, but this one takes the cake. Once Min Hyuk realizes his feelings for his Bong Soon, he can’t help but wear his heart on his sleeve. His sincerity behind this line and way he looks so longingly into Bong Soon’s eyes gives an overwhelming amount of feels.

7. “A Witch’s Romance”
“I can’t pretend to be fine around you anymore! I pretended to be ok for you, but I’m not okay at all.”
-Yoon Dong Ha (Park Seo Joon)-
When Yoon Dong Ha first meets Ban Ji Yeon (Uhm Jung Hwa), he can’t help but be entranced by her charm. She’s confident, assertive, and older. This age gap is what stops Ji Yeon from having any sort of romantic relationship with Dong Ha, but he can’t help where his heart leads him. When Ji Yeon continuously turns him down, Dong Ha takes an emotional hit, and the desperation in which he says this particular line is what really makes it unforgettable. It only shows how much he loves her!

8. “Her Private Life”
“I hated it because it was fake. I wanted to have a real one.”
-Ryan Gold (Kim Jae Wook)-
Ryan Gold and Sung Deok Mi (Park Min Young) engage in a fake relationship where they act like they are dating. When their fake relationship comes to an end, Deok Mi realizes that her feelings for Ryan have actually become real. Ryan Gold also realizes his feelings for her, but because of a misunderstanding, Deok Mi thinks he despises her. In the scene where Ryan says this line, he comes clean with his feelings by telling her that he hated their fake relationship because he desired to really be with her. This confession couldn’t come soon enough! The passionate kiss they engaged in after was so worth the build up of nine episodes.

After Yong Shik falls in love at first sight with Dong Baek (Gong Hyo Jin), he pursues her with the intent of hopefully marrying her one day. Despite his strong feelings for her, Dong Baek has her guard up and can’t seem to accept Yong Shik’s feelings as a result of the pain she had to endure from her ex-boyfriend. After she tells Yong Shik that all guys are the same, the pain in his heart is evident, but he doesn’t let it stop him from telling her exactly what he’s feeling. It’s the perfect thing to say to make her second guess rejecting him.
10. “Search: WWW”
“The only thing I can do is get rained on with you.”
-Park Mo Geon (Jang Ki Yong)-
A man who is led by his emotions, Park Mo Geon, meets a boss of a woman named Bae Ta Mi (Im Soo Jung) and spends a passionate night with her. Ta Mi insists that it’s a one-night stand, but Mo Geon can’t help but want to be with her. He’s desperate to have her open her heart to him. When Ta Mi is going through a difficult time, Mo Geon appears in front of her in the rain. She’s surprised that he found her and is touched by his words. This line is so simple, but conveys so much heart.

-Nam Se Hee (Lee Min Ki)-
The calculated and quirky Nam Se Hee falls into an arranged marriage with Yoon Ji Ho (Jung So Min). Eventually, the two get to know each other and develop feelings. When Ji Ho’s feelings get really strong, she decides to leave Se Hee in hopes that he will reciprocate her love and will be able to show his genuine feelings. This was the moment Nam Se Hee opened his heart and showed his feelings to Yoon Ji Ho. All she had wanted during their whole relationship was for Se Hee to show some sort of emotion towards her, and he does that with this line.

-Lee Hwa Shin (Jo Jung Suk)-
Pyo Na Ri (Gong Hyo Jin) was in love with Lee Hwa Shin for several years, but after getting rejected by him, she gets over him and ends up dating his best friend, Go Jung Won (Go Kyung Pyo). When she starts dating Jung Won, Hwa Shin starts to develop strong feelings for Na Ri. After having a few drinks, Hwa Shin says this line to Na Ri and although she takes it as a joke, the viewers can see how much sincerity Hwa Shin had behind it. It’s a subtle comment that’s so emotionally-charged and romantic. It’s definitely a heart-stopping moment in the series!

Chae Do Jin and Han Jae Yi (Jin Ki Joo) are high school sweet hearts with a sad past. After Chae Do Jin’s serial killer dad kills Jae Yi’s family and vows to kill her too, Do Jin takes it upon himself to protect her. After a scary encounter, Jae Yi finds it difficult to fall asleep, but Do Jin enters into her room and asks if he should stay by her side throughout the night. It’s such a simple line that brings so much comfort and makes everything good again.

14. “You Drive Me Crazy”
“Eun Sung, the smell of you won’t come off my body.”
-Kim Rae Wan (Kim Seon Ho)-
Only four episodes in length, Kim Seon Ho will have you in the palm of his hands by the end of the series. Han Eun Sung (Lee Yoo Young) and Kim Rae Wan have been best friends for eight years. They get drunk one night and end up sleeping together, which changes their relationship completely. When Eun Sung continues to insist that they forget about the special night, Rae Wan admits his feelings for her by telling her that he can’t get over it and that he will never be able to look at her as a friend again. It’s heart-rending but so romantic that Rae Wan is able to let all his feelings out in just one sentence.

15. “Descendants of the Sun”
“Should I apologize or confess my feelings?”
-Yoo Shi Jin (Song Joong Ki)-
Yoo Shi Jin first meets Kang Mo Yeon (Song Hye Kyo) at the hospital and falls in love at first sight. He can’t seem to get her out of his mind, which is why he continually tries to pursue her despite her reluctance in dating a military man. After a lot of pent-up emotions and feelings, Yoo Shi Jin confesses his feelings to her. This line comes the night before Yoo Shi Jin is heading back to Korea. It’s an intense and unforgettable moment as the two are at a crossroads, and you can see how torn Yoo Shi Jin is.
