Highlight's Lee Gikwang Discharged From Military
Highlight’s Lee Gikwang has been officially discharged from the military!
On November 18, his agency Around US Entertainment stated, “Lee Gikwang, who enlisted in April of last year, was discharged after completing his service as a conscripted policeman today.”
According to COVID-19 protocol, Lee Gikwang was able to take his final leave and be discharged from home without returning to the army base.
Lee Gikwang commented, “I’m happy to have safely finished my mandatory military service as of November 17, 2020. To be honest, the day of my military discharge had felt so far away to me, and it’s surprising and amazing that the day has come already.”
He continued, “Above all, the fact that I’m able to proudly present myself in front of my fans and spend the rest of our time together is what makes me the most excited and pleased.”
Lee Gikwang thanked his fellow soldiers and leaders as well as his fans who waited for his return. “I’m also sincerely grateful for my members who are always with me,” he added. “I will work harder so that I can greet fans with the best version of myself in the future.”
Lee Gikwang is the third member from Highlight to be discharged from the military. Yoon Doojoon was released earlier this year in April, and Yang Yoseob returned in August from his mandatory service as well.
Lee Gikwang will be holding a V LIVE broadcast on November 19 at 8 p.m. KST to talk about his upcoming plans.
