Updated November 25 KST:

Dramas that previously halted production due to potential COVID-19 transmission have revealed the results of tests on their cast and crew, while more dramas have announced that they are also halting production.

“River Where the Moon Rises” (literal title), which stars Kim So Hyun and Ji Soo, paused filming after a background actor came into contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case. On November 24, a source from the drama stated that the production staff had contacted the relevant health authorities. In accordance with public health guidelines, those who came into contact with the suspected COVID-19 case were identified and sent to get a COVID-19 test. At the end of the investigation, the original background actor who had come into contact with the confirmed case tested positive, but all the “River Where the Moon Rises” cast and background actors who had been in close contact with that background actor tested negative.

However, the production staff stated they would continue self-isolation and personal hygiene measures for one or two more days and take stock of the situation before resuming filming.

Kim Ji Won and Ji Chang Wook‘s upcoming KakaoTV original drama “Lovestruck in the City” has also paused filming. On November 24, a source from the drama stated that one of their background actors had tested positive. Following public health guidelines, filming has been halted and an epidemiological survey (contact tracing) is being conducted.

Kim Ji Won’s agency stated that she had had no contact with the background actor in question, but she had gotten tested on November 24 just in case and was awaiting results. The agency of So Ju Yeon, who is also starring in the drama, stated that she had canceled her upcoming film press conference and that she and her staff members had gotten a test and were waiting for results despite not having come into contact with the background actor.

JTBC’s new drama “Snowdrop” (literal title), starring Jung Hae In, BLACKPINK’s Jisoo, Kim Hye Yoon, and more, has also paused filming. On November 24, a source from the drama stated, “There are no positive cases in our team, but we have learned that a background actor was in close contact with a confirmed case. To keep our cast and crew safe and prevent transmission, we have paused filming and we will conduct tests on the background actor in question and all of their close contacts as well.”

On SBS’s “The Penthouse,” a background actor tested positive for COVID-19. This actor got tested because they had crossed paths with another confirmed case on another drama. A source from ‘The Penthouse’ stated that the drama had paused filming and were following public health guidelines. The source added that the background actor in question had appeared in a single scene in ‘The Penthouse,’ but all the cast and crew who crossed their path would be tested.

Many dramas and more have had to temporarily suspend filming or other events due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The drama “River Where the Moon Rises” (literal title), which stars Kim So Hyun, Ji Soo, and more, has halted filming since November 19. A source from the drama stated on November 23 that a background actor (also known as an “extra”) who took part in filming for the drama has been tested for COVID-19. The background actor was tested after they were notified that they had come in contact with a confirmed case.

The source added that in adherence with regulations, the drama had immediately halted filming and they were awaiting test results. They also stated, “It was a day when the background actors were filming a mob scene, so they did not cross paths with the main cast.”

Following the “River Where the Moon Rises” actor being tested for COVID-19, the upcoming OCN drama “The Uncanny Counter” (starring Jo Byeong Gyu, gugudan’s Kim Sejeong, and more) postponed its online press conference that was scheduled on November 23, as the show films on a neighboring set and an epidemiological survey needed to be carried out.

Later that day, a source from the show told MBN Star, “We’ve decided to resume filming starting tomorrow.” They stated that the survey had been completed, and the actor had not come in contact with the cast or crew of “The Uncanny Counter.” The press conference has been moved to November 27.

A background actor who came in contact with a confirmed case also filmed for the Netflix series “I Wish the World Would End Tomorrow” (literal translation).
