Watch: Yoo Yeon Seok, Yoo In Na, Sooyoung, And More Struggle With Love In "New Year Blues" Teasers
A new trailer and stills have been released for the upcoming film “New Year Blues”!
“New Year Blues” will tell the story of four couples who must each overcome different fears and problems as they face the beginning of a new year. The romantic comedy will be helmed by Hong Ji Young, the director behind the films “Will You Be There?” and “Marriage Blue.”
The star-studded cast consists of Kim Kang Woo, Yoo In Na, Yoo Yeon Seok, Lee Yeon Hee, Lee Dong Hwi, Chen Du Ling, Yeom Hye Ran, Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung, and Yoo Tae Oh.
In the trailer, Jin Ah (Lee Yeon Hee) has just been dumped by her boyfriend, and she decides to go on a spontaneous trip to Argentina. She tells Jae Heon (Yoo Yeon Seok) about it, and soon after, the text reads, “This year is ruined.”
The other couples face hardships of their own, as Rae Hwan (Yoo Tae Oh) and Oh Wol (Sooyoung) struggle with their relationship due to misunderstandings. Hyo Young (Yoo In Na) files for divorce from her husband Ji Ho (Kim Kang Woo) while also requesting a personal protection order against him, and Yong Chan (Lee Dong Hwi) is having trouble preparing for marriage with Yao Lin (Chen Du Ling) due to cultural differences.
However, things start to change as the four couples begin to appear happier, and the trailer’s text reads, “Smile widely,” in a hopeful message about the new year.
The final lines in the trailer continue this feeling of hope, as a character says, “I thought the present was an off-season in my life, but it looks like it was just a time to rest like a siesta. Let’s be happier next year.”

New stills for the upcoming film were revealed as well. Ji Ho, who is a detective, stands out with his perm and uniform, sitting inside the civil affairs office. Meanwhile, Hyo Young shows off her professionalism as a rehabilitation trainer, and the two look like complete opposites.
In the next set of stills, Jae Heon and Jin Ah, who looks at a tourist brochure, hint at the relationship that will develop between them as they meet in Argentina.
The next couple is Yong Chan and Yao Lin, who appear happy on their date together. However, Yong Chan suddenly looks dazed, and those around him seem concerned for him.
Meanwhile, Yao Lin overcomes the language barrier with Yong Mi (Yeom Hye Ran), and the two begin to grow closer as family.
Oh Wol and Rae Hwan seem to face their own hardships as a couple. They both appear to trust and love each other at first, but later, Rae Hwan is seen in his treatment room while Oh Wol stands outside, lost in thought. With Rae Hwan speaking to someone at a ski resort, the image gives a hint as to what could have happened between the lovers.
