"True Beauty" Cast Shares How They Prepared To Take On Their Characters And Talks About 1st Impressions
“True Beauty” stars Moon Ga Young, ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo, and Hwang In Yeop recently sat down for an interview about their upcoming drama!
The show revolves around three school friends that grow as individuals and in their relationships. Lim Ju Gyeong (Moon Ga Young) is a character that uses the power of make-up to overcome her insecurities. Lee Su Ho (Cha Eun Woo) is a popular student that has a dark history of his own, which happens to involve Han Seo Jun (Hwang In Yeop), who’s known for being cold on the outside but sweet on the inside.
The premise of the interview was for the actors to speak openly and comfortably in informal speech, as a way for the encounter to be more personal.
The trio answers a question about how each has prepared to take on their respective roles. Moon Ga Young answers that because she has to sport two very different looks onscreen, she goes through countless hours behind the scenes to put those looks together. Cha Eun Woo agrees with her and offers applause for the hard work she has put in.
Cha Eun Woo also answers the question himself, saying, “Thanks to Su Ho, I’ve taken on jiu jitsu. I’m enjoying it and I feel that I have a new hobby.” Hwang In Yeop takes the mic next and shares that he has gotten a motorcycle license and started practicing singing to match his multi-faceted character.
When Cha Eun Woo asks him to show a bit of his singing skills, Moon Ga Young cuts in and suggests to keep it secret so that viewers will make sure to watch the broadcast.
The three actors also talk about their first meetings. Hwang In Yeop shares that he’d first met Cha Eun Woo in an elevator, saying that his good looks were obvious even with a mask on. Cha Eun Woo mentions that Hwang In Yeop had greeted him first and Moon Ga Young says he’d done the same when they met at their script reading.
“I was really surprised,” says Moon Ga Young, saying she’d liked Hwang In Yeop’s voice. Cha Eun Woo adds that Hwang In Yeop looked just like Han Seo Jun in the original webtoon, and he also mentions that Moon Ga Young and himself had gone to the same school together. “It was funny to be acting with someone I know,” says Moon Ga Young.
Within the interview, there is a segment where Moon Ga Young quizzes the other two on their knowledge of make-up and make-up tools as she acted out using the items. Hwang In Yeop was able to quickly guess the right answers for both mascara and an eyelash curler, impressing Moon Ga Young.
