Watch: Moon Ga Young Falls Into Cha Eun Woo's And Hwang In Yeop's Debt In 'True Beauty' Highlight Reel

tvN’s upcoming drama “True Beauty” has shared an exciting new highlight reel!

Based on the hit webtoon of the same name, “True Beauty” is a romantic comedy starring Moon Ga Young as Lim Ju Gyeong, a girl who tries to combat her insecurities about her looks through her makeup skills, which turn her into a “goddess” at school. ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo will star as Lee Su Ho, a popular student who secretly harbors his own emotional wounds, while Hwang In Yeop will play Han Seo Jun, an untamable rebel with a surprisingly warm heart.

In a newly released highlight reel for the drama, Lim Ju Gyeong introduces herself to viewers by showing off her popularity at school, where the other students cheer her on and call her pretty. She declares, “I’m Lim Ju Gyeong. I’m a goddess… that is, only up until I remove my makeup.” The teaser then shows Lim Ju Gyeong struggling with her phone as its facial recognition software fails to recognize her.

Lim Ju Gyeong goes on to share, “After I became pretty, things changed. The way the other kids looked at me. Except for one person.” That person turns out to be Lee Su Ho, who frostily glares at Lim Ju Gyeong even as her other classmates fawn over her. When he runs into her without her makeup on and she pretends to be someone else, Lee Su Ho manages to do what even her phone can’t: he immediately recognizes her and says, “You’re not even good at acting. In my eyes, you’re Lim Ju Gyeong.”

Horrified by the threat of someone knowing her “secret,” Lim Ju Gyeong falls to her knees in front of Lee Su Ho and begs, “If you keep my secret for me, I’ll do anything you ask.” Lee Su Ho appears to take her up on the offer, and when he texts her, “I’m thirsty,” Lim Ju Gyeong frantically dashes through the hallways of her school to bring him a bottle of water. While busily running various errands for her demanding classmate, she thinks to herself, “He’ll probably feel too sorry for me to spread any rumors, right?”

Soon afterwards, Lim Ju Gyeong also finds herself crossing paths with another popular male student: Han Seo Jun, who asks her, “Hey, we’ve seen each other before, right?” The clip reveals that Lim Ju Gyeong has run off with Han Seo Jun’s motorcycle helmet, and he demands that she return it to him tomorrow no matter what. After agreeing and running away, Lim Ju Gyeong finds herself in the debt of two difficult classmates, and she worries, “The classroom is just like my pimples—I don’t know when it’ll explode.”

However, a new kind of tension begins to develop as Lee Su Ho starts to see Lim Ju Gyeong in a different light. When she gives him a set of stickers as a birthday gift, he is visibly moved, and he later comforts her in the rain when she breaks down crying and complains, “It’s not even my fault that I’m ugly, but everyone hates me.” After tending to her wounds, he tells her sincerely, “I’m sorry.”

Lee Su Ho then begins acting noticeably differently towards Lim Ju Gyeong at school, asking her to sit next to him and even leaving a bottle of juice for her on her desk. Thinking back on it at home, she says to herself, “Could it be…?” Lee Su Ho also approaches Han Seo Jun to warn him, “If you’re upset, take it out on me. Don’t mess around with Lim Ju Gyeong.”

As the caption teases a love triangle between the three characters, Han Seo Jun asks Lee Su Ho, “Do you like Lim Ju Gyeong?” Lee Su Ho retorts, “What about you? Why do you keep hanging around her?” The tension between the two escalates, eventually leading to a physical conflict, and Lim Ju Gyeong ends the clip by exclaiming, “What am I supposed to do?”

“True Beauty” premieres on December 9 at 10:30 p.m. KST and will be available with subtitles on Viki. Check out the new highlight reel below!
