Suzy Personally Chooses Her Favorite Line And Scene From 'Start-Up'

Suzy shared her thoughts on what she thinks is the best line and scene from the drama “Start-Up”!

“Start-Up” takes place in a fictional South Korean version of Silicon Valley where young dreamers set out to achieve success in the world of startup companies. Suzy stars as Seo Dal Mi, an adventurer who dreams of becoming Korea’s Steve Jobs, while Nam Joo Hyuk plays the role of Samsan Tech founder Nam Do San.

With only two episodes until the ending, the idol-turned-actress reflected on the drama and chose the most iconic moments.

Favorite line

Seo Dal Mi’s passionate efforts to achieve her dreams touched the hearts of viewers. She chose Nam Do San as her business partner and even got on her knees to recruit Jung Sa Ha (Stephanie Lee) to the team. In episode five, Seo Dal Mi said, “I’ve never regretted my decisions before. I tried my best to make that happen,” which showed her firm conviction and philosophy.

Suzy explained the reason why this quote left such a strong impression on her. She said, “I really like it because it seems like a line that explains Seo Dal Mi. I want to take after her in this way, but it means that if you take an action, you must make an effort to take responsibility for it, so I believe you’re supposed to have achieved something first.”

Favorite scene

In episode 12, Seo Dal Mi broke up with Nam Do San to ensure he doesn’t give up on his dreams. She tried to end their relationship in a cool way, but when he stubbornly refused to let her go, she eventually burst and said hurtful words she could never take back.

Suzy talked about this heartbreaking scene, saying, “There are many great scenes, but this scene in episode 12 was the most miserable and sad moment of Seo Dal Mi’s life. Through Alex’s dismissal, she realized her incompetence as a CEO and suffered the pain of losing her teammates. Despite the loss of confidence and faith, she desperately wanted to help Nam Do San achieve his dreams, which is why she said those harsh words to him. Just as there is no business that succeeds from the beginning, things didn’t go smoothly for Seo Dal Mi and Nam Do San’s first relationship, and this was the scene where they cried heartbrokenly after their first breakup.”
