BTS, SEVENTEEN, and TXT will be performing at Japan’s “CDTV Live! Live! Christmas Special”!
On December 7, Big Hit Entertainment confirmed that BTS would be performing “Dynamite” at TBS’s “CDTV Live! Live! Christmas Special.” For the upcoming show, six members will be participating in the performance. A source from the agency stated, “Suga recently received surgery for his shoulder, so he won’t be appearing on this stage in order to concentrate on recovery. Please be understanding.”
Earlier this month, SEVENTEEN was also announced to perform at Japan’s famous year-end music show “2020 FNS Music Festival” on December 9, and they will now be performing on “CDTV Live! Live! Christmas Special” on December 21. At the upcoming Christmas special show, SEVENTEEN will showcase their second Japanese mini album’s title track “24H.”
Furthermore, TXT will perform the Japanese version of “Blue Hour” for the first time at the Christmas special. Due to COVID-19, all the performances will be filmed in South Korea.
Recently, TXT broke their personal record on Billboard 200 with their new album “minisode1: Blue Hour,” featuring the title track “Blue Hour.” The album also topped Oricon’s daily and weekly album charts in Japan the week the album was released.
SEVENTEEN has also been enjoying a great deal of success in Japan this year. Their Japanese single “Fallin’ Flower” went double platinum in May and broke records as it topped the Oricon charts. With their latest Japanese mini album “24H,” the group recently became the first foreign male artist in history to have four consecutive albums debut at No. 1 on Oricon’s weekly album chart.
BTS made history as their new album “BE” debuted at No. 1 on the famous Billboard 200 chart, and their title track “Life Goes On” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100, making BTS the only other artist besides Taylor Swift to debut a song and an album at No. 1 on the two charts in the same week. This is also the first time a Korean song as risen to the top of the Hot 100 chart.
Previously, BTS and TXT appeared on Melon Music Award 2020 on December 5, and all three groups attended the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards on December 6. BTS is also scheduled to appear on 2020 SBS Gayo Daejeon in Daegu on December 25.
