Watch: Cha Eun Woo And Moon Ga Young's Ill-Fated Relationship Begins In "True Beauty" Sneak Peek
tvN’s upcoming drama “True Beauty” released a preview of the first episode!
Based on a hit webtoon, “True Beauty” is a romantic comedy about Lim Ju Gyeong (Moon Ga Young), who zealously uses makeup to hide her bare face and combat her insecurities about her looks. After she meets Lee Su Ho (Cha Eun Woo), a popular student who has his own emotional wounds, they share each other’s secrets and learn to heal through love.
The clip begins with Lee Su Ho bursting into a comic book store and asking for a horror series title. As he goes to search for the book, the store owner watches him in amazement, commenting that he has known Lee Su Ho for 10 years but that he hasn’t changed at all.
Just as the store owner is about to put his headphones back on, Lee Su Ho lets out a shout and brings the book to the counter to complain that it’s defective. When the owner tries to reason that he can just start from the second book in the series, Lee Su Ho goes on a tirade, arguing, “When you sing the national anthem, do you skip the first verse?”
As the store owner looks up in astonishment, Lee Su Ho continues, “When you watch a soccer match, do you only watch the second half? It’s the same with life, I guess you should just skip January and start living from February.” Instead of getting upset at his tone, the store owner agrees to place an order for the book, but Lee Su Ho storms out before he can finish.
Meanwhile, Lim Ju Gyeong and her father Lim Jae Pil (Park Ho San) ride in a moving truck, passing by Lee Su Ho as he leaves the store. When Lim Jae Pil tells Lim Ju Gyeong that they’ve almost arrived, she wakes up and rolls down the window as she peels a sheet mask off her face. However, the wind catches the mask and blows it straight onto Lee Su Ho’s face as children pass by and laugh at him. Lim Ju Gyeong covers her mouth in shock before looking at Lee Su Ho in the truck’s mirror and apologizing in a small voice.
