BLACKPINK And BTS Chosen For Billboard's Staff-Curated Best Songs Of 2020 List
On December 8, Billboard released their staff-curated list of the 50 Best Songs of 2020.
BLACKPINK scored two spots on the list, with their Selena Gomez collaboration “Ice Cream” coming in at No. 74 and “How You Like That” coming in at No. 23.
Paul Grein mentions that “Ice Cream” was the group’s first top 20 hit on the Hot 100 and describes “Ice Cream” as a “delight” with a “squeaky-clean, bubblegummy sound [that] belies its sexy lyrics.” Nolan Feeney describes “How You Like That” as a “top 40 hit” from “K-pop’s fiercest foursome” and praises its composition as “the most thrilling 30 seconds of pop all year.”
BTS’s “Dynamite” comes in at No. 7 on the list, with Billboard mentioning its record as BTS’s first No. 1 hit on the Hot 100 and earning the group their first Grammys nomination. Heran Mamo describes the song as “catching the spark of 2020’s disco overload” and says “it all adds up to an irresistible single that should soon become a pop culture staple in its own right.”
