Cube Entertainment Files Criminal Charges Against Malicious Commenters
On December 15, Cube Entertainment announced an update in its ongoing legal action against malicious commenters.
The statement reads:
Hello, this is Cube Entertainment (hereby “Cube”).
First, we would like to thank all the fans who love and cherish Cube’s artists.
In order to protect our artists’ rights, Cube has created a committee dedicated to the protection of artists’ rights and interests. We believe strongly in repaying fans’ love and attention through good music and content.
The artists’ rights protection committee has been listening to the voices of fans online, and is actively monitoring the spread of false rumors, insults, and sexual comments and edits designed to cause humiliation.
However, as of late, these malicious attacks have increased sharply, making it difficult for Cube and our artists, who are in the public spotlight, to put up with. As fans’ concerns and worries have also increased, Cube has decided that we will no longer remain still and that these attackers will bear the full responsibility of the law. Through a legal firm, we have filed criminal charges against these malicious commenters.
The malicious attacks described above are serious criminal acts that violate criminal laws such as the law regarding the promotion of information and communication network use and protection of information and the law on the punishment and etcetera of sexual crimes. Cube will pursue severe punishment for these offenders and will not show lenience.
Filing these criminal charges was made possible through the support and help of the fans. Along with the fans, we intend to keep pursuing severe action against those who perpetrate malicious behavior.
Once again, we would like to thank everyone who has shown love and attention for Cube artists. With your help, we will do our best to protect our artists.
Cube Entertainment houses artists such as BTOB, CLC, PENTAGON, (G)I-DLE, Jo Kwon, Jang Hyun Seung, as well as various actors, comedians, and more.
